By HRH Ogbolo Israel Jacob Monday (IDO II), Amanana-Owei of Egbemo-Angalabiri Domain

True leadership does not begin with power — it begins with faith. Faith gives strength to vision, patience to purpose, and courage to decisions. Without it, leadership becomes a pursuit of titles instead of service to people.

Every great leader must first learn to listen — not only to the voices of men, but to the voice of God. Faith teaches us humility: the awareness that our wisdom is limited, but divine guidance is limitless. It is this understanding that shapes how we lead, how we forgive, and how we inspire others.

As both a ruler and a pastor, I have seen that the most powerful governance flows from the heart that trusts in God. Policies alone cannot unite people; it takes prayer, integrity, and compassion to heal divisions and build peace. Faith is not weakness — it is the source of strength that allows a leader to stand firm when storms arise.

In every challenge faced by our communities, faith reminds us that transformation begins within. Before we can rebuild our roads, we must rebuild our hearts. Before we can achieve unity, we must embrace forgiveness. The crown symbolizes authority, but the altar symbolizes submission — both must coexist in harmony for leadership to truly serve.

When leaders lead by faith, their decisions bless generations. And when followers walk by faith, their obedience brings peace. Together, we build not just communities, but a legacy that reflects the will of God — a kingdom where justice, love, and progress reign as one.
